Week 7 Term 3 Post 7

Reading: This week we watched Bridge to Terabithia, a wonderful movie containing, lots of fantasy and a great story. Some of the examples in the movie, showed dragonflies as tiny warrior knights and squirrels became squogres, a cross between the school bully and a mischievous squirrel. Trees became trolls and an ancient, rotting tree-house became a fortified castle, where they could sit and relax, away from all the troubles of the normal world. Writing: On Thursday we started a Quick-write on a fantasy story, letting our minds run wild, releasing them from the tight reins we had held them in since we had been at Rose hill. Now of course, if you don't use your muscles, they will turn to flab, therefore according to that logic our fantasy brains were rusted and old. I started off as a serious novel, got bored and started a new story about talking animals, and then along came Maya to ruin my day. Week 6 Term 3 Post 3

Reading: This week we watched Eight below, a wonderful movie about the conflict of leaving the dogs in Antarctica and rescuing them. Jerry (The guy who was in charge of the dogs) had to leave the station because the scientist with whom he was working had hurt his legs and a bad storm was brewing. In the end, one dog died, but the rest survived on dead orca and seagulls. The dogs stayed on their own for more than half a year and were finally rescued in the Spring. Writing: Maths:
