This is Meggie at the end of the film Reading: This week we started our first avail on Inkheart. I chose Meggie as my character and so far I have only written a little bit of the character analysis. Here is a link to my work.https://docs.google.com/document/d/1IPWJL_NtbyP_7ePW6K565EZNpwqEfwNTsXHTTXBk6ks/edit The picture is from one of the final scenes, where Meggie is forced to read out the Shadow, an evil character bound to Capricorns will, and made of the ash of Capricorns victims. Meggie is able to vanquish the Shadow and constructs a new story, from the notes of her grandfather, where the Shadow kills it's master and disappears and Dustfinger finally returns to his book, and Meggie's family is whole again. Writing: For writing, we learned about three new types of poems. Kennings poem was just two words that linked together and we were shown some great examples before creating our own that could be about school or homework. I chose the school. End of Term 2 Reflection

Reading: This term we made our novel studies and we looked at Character Analysis which included Physical appearance, Personality traits, Growth, and relationships. After this, we used the information we had gathered to create an essay. The next task was main events and a summary, then mapping where we looked at the setting of the story. Connections were very important and there were three types of them; text to self, which means how we can connect to the book, text to text, which means have we read any books similar to the book and text to the world, which is about how the book has similarities to everyday life. Passage Picker was the author's purpose and the words they used to show emotions to the reader. I think that all my 'passages' were about the emotion of happiness, and one of them was about the first time Greg was racing in a rally. 'My fingers relax a bit. I stop trying to brace my feet. I breathe properly and my heart steadies. But that doesn't stop the b...

Reading: I finished off my novel studies after tediously completing passage picker, which was soo boring! I had to flick dozens of pages and find various emotions but it seemed, the only ones I could find were about joy and happiness so my essay was rather one sided Maths: Emily T and I started and finished our slides for statistical investigation. Our focus was to brighten up the school using murals and plants. Our final conclusion was to add murals that represented different cultures in Rosehill and a spiky plant garden, which the majority voted for. Science: This week I presented my joint presentation along with Joyce and Talia. Our score was okay, and I could've done better. I really enjoyed the research and presenting was pretty nerve racking. Health: For health, we were stabbed in the shoulder and made to suffer from sore, heavy arms while a dead virus made it's way through our bodies so we would be immune to it for ten more years. My needle took ages to get under m...
