Learning Week 6 Term 2

Learning Week 6 Term 2
Reading: I used visualisation and clues from the text to create a map based on the setting in 'Slide the Corner'. It was difficult because I couldn't get a feel of the place so I had to skim and scan for tid-bits of information that painted a very blurry picture.

Writing: In writing, we practised quick writes, where we try to fit in one skill in a short story. We have used prepositions, practised descriptive writing using adjectives, adverbs, and figurative languages

Maths: I learnt about the Mean, Median, Mode and Range and how to identify them using a poem.

Hey diddle diddle,
The median is in the middle.
You add and divide for the mean.
The mode is the one you see the most.
The range is the difference between.

Topic: I learned about the visual features of a Goliath Bird Eating spider and how it uses its hairs to inflict damage to the mucous membranes in the eyes. Its colour depends on which area it lives in. It's a varied shade of brown and its legs can be barred. in terms of length, it can grow up to 11 inches and is second only to the Giant Huntsman spider. It weighs 170 grammes, which is 10 grammes less than an M&M packet.
