Post 3 Term 3 Week 4

Image result for tintin movieReading: This week we started a new movie called Tin-Tin. Our task was to describe three settings from the movie. a fe popular choices were Marlinspike hall, The cruise ship, and Bagghar. Tintin was helped by captain Haddock, who was the descendant of Sir Frances and was the only one who could break the curse and find the treasure. We had to use a lot of descriptive writing in this task and it was really fun. Our paragraphs had to be nine to ten sentences so I stretched out everything and my paragraphs were 100+ words.

Writing: During this period of five days we had to write a two-minute long poem about change. I found it hard but I decided to write about the plight of captive orcas. I watched a lot of informative videos and I used this prior knowledge to speed write and then I polished it off. I have never been good at poems but this one seemed very easy to write. Out of 24, I got 22. I am pretty happy with this score as it is equivalent to 11 over 12.

Maths: The math-ex teams went to the Papakura math-ex this week and the year sevens came away with fourth and seventh, while the year eights got first place! I had a lot of fun this week and we just revised adding and subtracting fractions and multiplying and dividing them.
